Kelse Clark-Fernandez – Breeding Manager
Involved in the breeding business for a total of ten years, Kelse worked for Green Valley Ranch before starting as the breeding manager at McQuay Stables in 2012. Overseeing the large scale breeding operation at the ranch, she enjoys interacting with the horses and the people in the breeding and foaling business. She loves watching the foals she helps into the world go on to do big things in the show pen. Kelse is excited to join the McCutcheon Team and continue to be a part of the future of Reining.
Tom McCutcheon – Head Trainer
Tom McCutcheon is one of the reining industry’s leading riders, with lifetime earnings exceeding $1.7 Million. His accolades include an NRBC Open Championship, NRBC Reserve Championship, two National Reining Horse Association Derby Reserve Championships, Tradition Open Futurity Champion, SWRHA Open Futurity Champion, multiple NCRHA Open Futurity Championships and multiple NRHA Futurity Finalist.
On the International stage, Tom is a 2-time USET Reining Championship winner. As a member of the 2002 USA Reining Team at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, Tom helped Team USA bring home the Gold. Along with the Team Gold, Tom brought home the Individual Silver Medal aboard Consquistador Whiz. Tom again joined the team in Aachen, Germany in 2006 as the teams alternate. In 2010, Tom joined the team one more time, this time aboard Gunners Special Nite, owned by Turnabout Farm. This time Tom brought home both the Individual Gold as well as being a part of the Gold Medal Team. Once again in 2014 Tom joined the squad that represented the USA at the World Equestrian Games, this time along side his wife Mandy.
Cade McCutcheon – Trainer
With over $1,000,000 in earnings Cade McCutcheon is no stranger to the winner circle! Starting his show career in 2007 as a youth competitor he has climbed the ranks to be one of the top earning NRHA Riders for several consecutive years. Following in his royally bred reining family pedigree Cade clinched the USA Team Gold Medal in Toyon, North Carolina with a 229.5 at age 18. Cade is the youngest athlete to represent the U.S. in reining at the World Equestrian Games, and the youngest athlete at the entire games. With a NRHA Non Pro Derby Championship under his belt and over 47 Major NRHA Event finalists Cade is already making a big impression as an Open ride with his RUN FOR THE MILLION Co-Championship aboard Custom Made Gun Cade put all the lights on himself headed to the 2019 NRHA Futurity were not only did he make 3 horses back to the Level 4 Finals He finished 1st on SUPER MARIOO and Res Champion on GUNS AND DYNAMITE, making Cade the newest and youngest NRHA Million Dollar Rider and the youngest NRHA Level 4 Open Futurity Champion!
Debbie Brown – Trainer
Debbie Brown joined the Tom McCutcheon Reining Horse Team in 2014 and we are so thrilled to have her. Debbie is an NRHA Professional and has competed at all levels within the NRHA and has earned numerous titles along with NRHA earnings most recently winning the 2016 High Roller Classic Half Arab Open Futurity.
Trent Harvey – Trainer
Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses is proud to welcome Trent Harvey to the team! Trent has won over $109,000 with multiple titles including the 2016 NRBC Level 1 and 2 Open Classic Championship, 2018 NRHA Derby Lv 3 Co Res Champion and was voted the 2018 NRHA Professional Up-And-Coming Trainer of the year award!
Shannon Kernan – Rehab Manager
Shannon Kernan has been a part of the Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses since 2013. We are proud to also offer a full service Equine Rehabilitation Center and Spa with Shannon as our manager. We offer the latest technology, including the Aqua-Tred, Hydrotherapy Spa, Equissage, P3 machine, Ice Horse, and Theraplate. Shannon’s eye for detail and rehab knowledge is a key to our program. Running the Rehab and Spa center here at the ranch she trains all the horses in training and incoming patients to swim, stand in the spa, and does all the treatments here in the center. Her care and abilities are a huge part of our program and what we can offer here at Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses. If you are trying to rehab a horse after an injury, or simply trying to keep your horse sound and mentally fresh, the rehab center is a great choice for both.
Cathleen Clucas – Office Manager
Cathleen Clucas joined the Tom McCutcheon Reining Horse team in September 2017 and manages all the office work, including payroll, show entries, billing, and client relations. With her background in secretarial work we are glad to have her organizational skills on the team! Cathleen also comes from a horse background, breeding and raising high end western pleasure horses, including the famed stallion Jacks Are Lucky Too.
Riley Hestand – TMRH Team Member
Riley joined team TMRH in 2016 and assists on the weekends and summer with turning horses out, saddling and bathing. She is a hard working high school student who has a great passion for horses! We look forward to watching her continue to grow.
Trent Wargo- Farrier
Being in the reining horse business, we rely heavily on our very talented farrier, Trent Wargo, who Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses has worked with for many years. Trent works with Tom to optimize the performance of each horse while ensuring their long term soundness.
